I’m Elmer Cortez, and I’m at the beginning of an exciting new journey as The Atlanta Busker. While I’ve had the joy of serving as a music director for a multicultural choir in my church, stepping out into the world of busking is something completely new for me. To be honest, I’m terrified. But just like Peter walking on water toward Jesus, I’m choosing to move forward in faith, trusting that by remaining in Him, I will find my footing.
Right now, I’m preparing—gathering my guitar, microphone, amp, audio mixer, cameras, and other gear to get ready for this adventure. My heart is set on sharing music that uplifts, encourages, and connects people, but I’m still learning as I go. Every step is a leap of faith, and I invite you to join me in this process.
This website will evolve along with my busking journey. As I hit the streets and share my experiences, I’ll also share the lessons I learn—both in music and in life. I hope that, through my music and message, I can offer hope, encouragement, and inspiration to those who need it most.
Though I’m still a work in progress, my mission remains clear: to be a friend, uncle, dad, brother, or comforter to those who are weary, suffering, or seeking hope. Before each song, I will offer words of encouragement and faith, and then dedicate a song to lift your spirit. Together, we will walk this journey of faith and music, trusting that by abiding in Jesus, we will find our way.
